I miss Japan so much.

It’s only natural to miss the place where I had the most amazing memories in my life. The place where I found love, lost love, made a lot of friends, met many inspiring people….

Japan is my first and only love in my life.

No matter where I am, I feel the force of it pulling me, whispering those sweet memories to me like an unforgettable lullaby in the loneliest of nights.

I miss it so much, lately I just have been crying alittle. I miss my friends and places like Yokohama and the buildings in Tokyo. I miss my agency Kiyoras, and the sachou, manager and people who work there. I miss everybody. I tried to look away, tried to forget, but it hurts so much.

I know things will be better when I start working next month and start saving up.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, I finally have a car now! I even started driving. So I’m not completely sad. =) I’ve accomplished a lot that I haven’t before, there’s more to do.

I feel really good when I’m driving, like I’m in control for once. It’s great because I recently bought a cd for driving, it’s the best of John Lee Hooker from the 60’s-70’s so it’s really good.

Before that, I was listening to my Tomb Raider movie soundtrack. I love that one too and Aerosmith.

I guess I’m doing good. I’m really thankful to have great parents. They are so supportive. Kansha kansha desu.

I guess even with this, what I miss is what I miss.

And I will always miss.

How do you get over something like that you know?

How do you move on?

I don’t have any of the answers.

……To be honest, I want to go back, finish what I started.

But it’s never that simple. I promised myself from this year on, I won’t chase something that never moves.

Sou, jibun ni yakusoku shitanda. Korekara wa, jibun wo motto daiji ni shiyoutte ne. Jibun no michi ni susumi, aratana hikari ni abi nagara, atarashii mono ya yume wo mitsukeru tte…..sou.

I have to keep my promise to myself, remind myself why I left.

Why, and that reason will keep me from going back to those dark days.

In 1967, Kathrine Switzer was the first woman to run the Boston marathon. After realizing that a woman was running, race organizer Jock Semple went after Switzer shouting, “Get the hell out of my race and give me those numbers.” However, Switzer’s boyfriend and other male runners provided a protective shield during the entire marathon.The photographs taken of the incident made world headlines, and Kathrine later won the NYC marathon with a time of 3:07:29. I can’t explain how much I love rulebreaking, society changing, progressive women.

This photo never stops blowing my mind. Not just because Switzer is clearly a total bad-ass, but because you can see the other runners noticing the commotion, and the fact that they shielded her the rest of the race… well, I look at this picture and I imagine they aren’t thinking, “My god, we need to protect that helpless woman.” I like to imagine that they’re thinking, “Somebody’s fucking with a fellow runner. I AM NOT OKAY WITH THAT SHIT.” That kind of solidarity really is heart-warming.

And if that isn’t enough for you, just look at Switzer’s face. NOT A SINGLE FUCK WAS GIVEN THAT DAY.

Been awhile typing a blog entry.

What’s new is that I got a car(at last)and have been driving which is good, and I’ve been appointed as YWD leader(SGI) in my area which is cool too. Not really busy overall since I can’t start working until May, I’m just looking forward to working.

Because of this, I haven’t been able to meet people and become friends. I started missing my best friend back in Japan, Ami, like Crazy. It’s been hard, feeling somewhat down and disconnected with everything yet I’ve been doing daimoku before I sleep everynight. But recently my sleep schedule has went from 11pm to around 2am. I was trying to keep it early so that I wouldn’t have to worry about this kind of downed feeling kicking in and it has now. Can’t do much, it’s just like water running in, I gotta keep calm and think positive.

Nothing can bring me down really, this is just temporary since I’ve been through tougher situations. It’s true though, you learn how to handle all the obstacles thrown at you. I guess you can call it experience.

No pain, no gain. Keep that in mind for the future ladies & gentlemen.

Other than that I’ve been trying to keep myself occupied like figuring out what my dreams are. During some meetings we would have this discussion and they would ask what are your goals by a certain year. I wondered and thought do I really have to think about it right now? I mean, I’m the type of person that just goes where I want at certain times. I change all the time and so will my goals by then. I’m not even sure what I want right now. To be honest I’m just figuring out my purpose, some soul searching if you will.

I’m a Buddhist and also a believer of so many things in the universe. I really want to know what I’m supposed to do and if I will ever meet someone who truly understands and is the same. Somedays I believe, and somedays it gets hard not communicating with someone on the same wave length.

But hey, we got our ups & downs. I can get back up. This is just an obstacle I can overcome.

Maybe I’ll write someday soon.
